It would also be nice if they could add another bathroom in each area but that will probably never happen.
A group of friends & family all get together here several times a summer. We always have such a great time and the memories we've made are priceless. Great selection of primitive and electricity sites. Get there EARLY on holiday weekends or you probably won't get a write!
I feel a little unfair giving them four stars. It is a beautiful Park. I love the water. They've got vast areas to choose from, for parking. For all of that I would give 5 stars.
Magnificent Lake and State Park Destination ... Camping, Hiking, Fishing, swimming, Horseback Trails, boating facilities. Don't miss the Marina and the variety of supplies at the convenience store. There is even a Restaurant with limited serving schedule... A great place to spend the day or for an extended vacation
However, I am only there on Labor Day weekend. We have had a family reunion there from Friday through Monday for several years. I hate it. It is crammed full. We're in the middle of a horseshoe type area. There is zero parking. There are people crammed in like sardines, kids walking in the road, people walking in the road, and it is not at all enjoyable.
I have been there early once, we got there on a Thursday. I can say that it was a completely different feel and an extremely enjoyable time. But stay away on a holiday weekend in the summer.
Its a fun place to bring the kids. It has many activities to do such as bike trails, horse trails, boating, swimming and fishing. Its also a wonderful spot to camp. I have been going there since i was little. Everyone there is highly respectful and campground host deal with issues immediately. Its nice and out of town but not to far if you forgot something and need to run to the store.
Great park! Lots of nice campsites including a few group sites right on the Lake that would be perfect for scouts. 2 swimming beaches, a play ground, a few docks, and several good fishing spots. There is also a restaurant onsite, a yacht club and equestrian campsites. Lots to do here!
